MISS SARA WENTZ - DIRECTOR

EDUCATION: Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.

EXPERIENCE: I have worked as a teacher, lead teacher and an Assistant Director. Totaling nine years in childcare.

Working with children is something I have always loved doing. When I entered the field of child development, I didn't realize how much one little person has to rely so much on love and their surroundings to survive. They depend on so many people to make it in this world. I love the idea that I could be one of those people to help shape their lives. Every day is an adventure with them, you never know what to expect. Children are such wonderful and unique little individuals. Their outlook on life is so carefree and happy. Every morning when I walk into school, I am greeted with ten sets of little hands reaching up at me with mouths wide open and a smile from ear to ear. What a great way to start the day!

Children have always held a special place in my heart and I look forward to getting to know your child and being an essential part of their growth and development.

Love,
Miss Sara

Miss Nicole Watts- Head Preschool Teacher
(3 year olds)

Education/Experience:
I graduated from Stark State College in 2003 with my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have 6 years of experience working with 3-5 year olds in a preschool setting.

Philosophy:
I believe that children learn through play. They make natural discoveries because they have a natural curiosity about everything. I believe it is the responsibility of the teacher to provide the children with a variety of appropriate materials and activities. In this environment, the children will be encouraged to learn and discover through play. A well-balanced schedule that is consistent supports all areas of children's development and growth. The Kids First preschool experience provides children with positive life long skills and a strong foundation for Kindergarten.

Miss Michelle - Head Preschool Teacher
(4 year olds)

Education/Experience:
Associate Applied Science (A.A.S.) Child Development from Akron University. In the past 26 years I have worked as a Nanny, Pre-K Head Teacher, Pre-K Assistant, Assistant Director and Director.

Philosophy:
I believe all children have the desire for learning and discovering the world around them. As a facilitator of learning in young children, I take my responsibility to them seriously. I believe when telling children how special they are, they must also be told how special other people are. I believe play is an important part of a young child’s life. Play is the child’s natural way of learning and they gain experience for living through it. Play also fosters independence and curiosity which are two areas that are important in the development of the whole child.

I believe children learn best when there is consistency and structure. Children also need time to be creative and have choices. They need to be respected but must also learn to respect themselves, their teachers and their classmates. By planning opportunities throughout the day that are age appropriate, I will be able to help all children develop to their full potential.

I believe it is my responsibility to provide opportunities for all children to develop to the fullest of their capabilities.

Philosophy:
Children come into this world with the ability to learn and grow.  It is up to us to guide them so They can grow into responsible, confident adults. This is done through nurturing in many ways, but is always important to remember that more is "caught than taught."  It is important for me to be an example that they may learn from.

How I intend to incorporate my philosophy in my teaching:
Infants must have their needs attended to by carrying out these duties in a responsible and loving way; I can help provide the security they need.   While I can never take the place of their parents, my privilege is to be there for them while their parents are working.  I will care for them as if they are my own.
