TODDLERS (18 months - 36 months)

Through a stimulating, creative, and play-oriented environment, our toddlers are given many opportunities to discover and experiment as individuals and as a group. In order for our toddlers to explore their large motor skills and their imaginations, they need a lot of room to move and play!! As our toddlers approach two years old, they are beginning to understand many concepts such as their ABC’s and 123’s, language and independent skills. Physical and social developments are enhanced throughout each day through adult and child interaction and play.

We understand the importance of developing independent skills and we encourage this through a focus on dressing themselves, washing their face and hands, cleaning up their space and toilet training. These are skills, which should also be encouraged at home. Each day your child’s teacher will send home a daily activity sheet to include information such as: how well your child ate that day, what kind of mood they were in, what activities they did and enjoyed the most, what story they read in circle time, and lastly any pertinent information from your child’s teacher such as a need for diapers/pull-ups, special material for an art project, etc. Please review these sheets nightly.

Miss Ginny- Lead Toddler Teacher

Education:
Kent Stark- One year in Early Childhood Education, 2 year degree in Early Childhood Education, CDA degree in Infant/Toddler care.

Experience:
I worked at Wonder WOrld Learning Center for 4 1/2 years as well as a Nanny for 2 years.

Philosophy:
My philosophy is to teach children that there is a fun side to learning and to make their time with me as educational yet as fun as I can.  I believe that every child is special in his/her own way and I want to help them grow and develop to their full potential.

I plan on doing some fun themes with the children and going on educational yet fun and interesting field trips.  I hope that by my teaching they will grow as a class and as the individuals that they are.

Jody Nestor - Toddler Teacher

Education:
I am currently attending the University of Akron for Surgical Technician.

Experience:
I have two children of my own and have worked in centers prior.

Philosophy:
My children are the most important thing to me. Children learn from what they see and experience in life and it is crucial to lay a positive foundation for them to grow from.

How I intend to incorporate my philosophy in my teaching:
I will treat my students as if they are my own. I will help them learn to make the right choices and understand the consequences of right versus wrong. I will promote positive reinforcement and set goals as well as boundaries for them to learn from.
